All but one of the available units are an open canvas ready for you to pick your colors and textures. Elevator, community work-out room and great storage, heated garage and great location.

This historic 1920's building was restored by local prestige building company Shamrock Construction.  With an eye for details, they have created a masterpiece on the lower south hill. On-Top Realty, Inc. Website Goes Live!

We have officially launched On-Top Realty, Inc.'s new website at www.On-TopRealty.com. I have been privileged to be the web developer for this new website.  The logo was designed by graphic designer Jacob Greif (http://www.jacobgreif.com).

On-Top Realty, Inc. is a new name in the real estate market, but even though the name is new, the principals and sales brokers have a wealth of knowledge and experience. That experience includes over 40 years working and running a commercial property management and development company, with experience in retail operations and the training to establish the value of an active business.

The company has one principal with 12 years of experience in home construction and remodeling. That experience is available to buyers that may want to modernize an available house. The company also has a sales broker with several years of experience who understands today’s market. The company will add more sales staff as we find the right people to create and add to a knowledgeable and dynamic sales force.

Hailey's 1st Year Montage

I created this montage for Hailey's 1st birthday about 6 months ago.  I can't believe she's 18 months already!  I have been collecting content for the one i'm going to create for her 2nd birthday.  It's amazing how much she's changed over the first year.  Even in the last 6 months, she's gone from being a baby to an actual kid or little person.

Anyway, just wanted to share this.  This kid is amazing. I hope you enjoy the video :)

Intellectual Capital

Tom's book that he has been working on for years has finally been published! My parents came over for dinner last night so that Tom could present each of us kids a copy of the book.  It was a lot of fun. He read out loud the preface to us, in which he thanks his family, Victor, Mirna, Jose, Marco and wife Maria Ester.  The book has been dedicated to his three grandchildren: Kristin, Isabella and Hailey.  It was a fun night.

For most, the topic of economics when dealt with at this intricate of a scale is rather boring. Haha. This book, however, focuses on the 64 individuals who have received the prestiges Nobel Prize for Economic Science over the last 20 year.  I am going to attempt to read this 350 page masterpiece :) We'll see how this goes!

Below are the books Tom has written so far.
2010 - Intellectual Capital: Forty Years of the Nobel Prize in Economics
1999 - Great Experiments in American Economic Policy
1993 - Beyond Competition: The Economics of Mergers and Monopoly Power

Cat-Face Spider

Last night, after a long night of eating too much food at Pig Out at The Park, we got home to find a creepy looking spider outside our kitchen window. I caught a giant white ball out of the corner of my eye, and looked over at this feakishly huge looking spider staring me down.

I wouldn't have been suprised if the damn thing started talking and demanded my wallet. Turns out, this spider is called a Jewel Spider, and/or Cat-Face Spider. Mainly because when you look at it from behind, it looks like.., well, a cat.
I looked up this spider and according to this site: http://www.royalalbertamuseum.ca/natural/insects/bugsfaq/jewelspd.htm
the spiders aren't harmful to humans. In fact, they are beneficial. Still creepy looking though. This thing will scare the bejeezes out of you if you've never seen one before. This is the time of year that these spiders begin to show up.

Redwood Deck

This weekend i'm heading up to Priest Lake to build a deck for my folk's cabin. Originally we were going to just pull the old topping off the existing deck and replace it with fresh redwood 2x6 topping. Upon pulling off the old topping, we discovered the suports were all rotten and would need to be completely replaced.

I think it's better this way though. Whenever you do a remodeling job, you never know what you will uncover. The projects almost always tend to be way bigger than orignally thought. Rather than trying to salvage what was already there, we decided to completley demolish every last remenant of the old deck and start from scratch.

We will be building a 24' x 12' deck. I have some experience with framing and would consider myself somewhat of a "handyman". I have enlisted some help from my father and brothers whom have little to none experience. We'll see how this goes...

************* the aftermath *************************************

Well. It went pretty well. Even though we did our share of drinking while building. See pics below.

(Yup. We had the women with sangrias making sure we were level)

(Tah Dahhh!)

Not too shabby looking. A splash of stain and a couple steps and it's ready for parties. Next step will be fabricating a railing/bench system all around. But we'll save that for another day.
